  "projectDescription": "The Wild Salmon Center will implement a strategic, collaborative approach to implementing salmon recovery plans.  Projects are specifically designed to benefit Southern Oregon/ Northern California Coast (SONCC) coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) and Oregon Coast (OC) coho salmon, which are both listed as “threatened” under the federal Endangered Species Act (ESA).  Selected projects will address these limiting factors by restoring hydrologic connectivity within critical habitat areas through the reconnection of floodplain habitats. Projects were selected and refined through a rigorous prioritization process undertaken during development of three Strategic Action Plans (SAPs) in the Nehalem, Siuslaw, and Elk River watersheds.",
