  "projectDescription": "The North Carolina Coastal Federation built a living shoreline near privately owned land on Broad Creek, adjacent to Bogue Sound in the White Oak River watershed. The property experienced loss of salt marsh and oyster habitat due to high rates of erosion from storms, boat wakes, and sea level rise. An oyster-shell-bag marsh-toe revetment was created along a 143 linear-foot section of shoreline (0.02 acres), and salt marsh vegetation (0.006 acres) was planted on-site. The project was constructed to restore salt marsh and valuable habitat for oysters and fish, and to provide benefits to water quality.",
