  "projectDescription": "The B-120 Buzzards Bay Trustees, through a NFWF-NOAA cooperative agreement, provided B-120 Buzzards Bay aquatic and shoreline funds to the Buzzards Bay coalition (BBC) to remove the Horseshoe Mill dam on the Weweantic River in Wareham, MA. The dam was removed in February 2020, and other site work was completed by September 2020. The dam removal site is located at the head-of-tide on the Weweantic River, and removal of this 4-ft high concrete spillway structure provides unimpeded fish passage and restoring tidal hydrology to the 90+-acre former impoundment area. With passage restored, river herring, American eel, rainbow smelt, white perch, sea lamprey and other anadromous fishes have access to 3 miles of upriver spawning and rearing habitats.",
