"projectDescription": "With this project the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation of Oregon built 4.1 miles of fencing in the Coyote Creek watershed on the Warm Springs Reservation in Central Oregon. The Tribes built the fences during the summers of 2015 and 2016. The project was completed with funds from the Beaver Creek Gasoline Spill settlement. The purpose of the fence is to control livestock access to the creek. The fence prevents wild horses and cattle from using sensitive areas. This will reduce erosion, enhance riparian and instream vegetation, and improve water quality. The project benefits Middle Columbia steelhead trout downstream in Beaver Creek. Other fish and wildlife will also benefit. The fence protects 359 acres of riparian and upland habitat.",
