"projectDescription": "In this project, the Native Village of Eyak, along with their partners, will bring a local, physical presence to the Cordova Harbor to promote clean boating practices through education and information dissemination. In addition, the work will engage the local harbor staff, marine businesses, Coast Guard, and non-profit organizations by supporting increased use of available services. Finally, this important work will evaluate existing harbor user practices, give recommendations for improvements to decision makers, and assist with improving and augmenting critical harbor services.Cordova Clean Harbor Coordinator (CCH) and volunteers reach harbor users by conducting dock walks, answering questions, picking up trash, and by administering harbor user surveys with a bilge pillow was an incentive. The CCH group brings a presence to social gatherings such as Health Day Fair, Cordova Clean Up Day, and Fisherman welcome-back parties. Program information and clean harbor best practices are mailed out in Harbor bill mailings, a bulk community mailing, and featured in the Cordova Times Newspaper.",
