"projectDescription": "Relatively uncontaminated sediments and dense growth of invasive species were removed to reestablish the bathymetry of a shallow sheltered bay at Kingsbury Bay in the St. Louis River, which historically supported a large area of high quality habitat. Approximately, 166,000 cubic yards of material was excavated from Kingsbury Bay with a portion of this amount transported to the Grassy Point restoration project nearby which is not part of the settlement. Other components of the settlement included the restoration and stabilization of Kingsbury Creek tributaries upstream of Kingsbury Bay, the establishment of wild rice within Kingsbury Bay and other designated locations within the estuary. Signage, displays regarding Tribal culture in the region and a Pause Point overlooking Kingsbury Bay on the Marten Trail are being coordinated with the City of Duluth.",
