"projectDescription": "As part of the Willamette Confluence Floodplain Wetlands Restoration and Reconnection project, The Nature Conservancy lead efforts to restore the Cost Fork site. This project addressed a key limiting factor for anadromous fish in the upper Willamette, the widespread loss of floodplain and off-channel habitat due to a combination of human encroachment onto the floodplain, physical barriers (such as rip-rap and revetments), loss of side channels, and changes in flow regimes that eliminate floodplain-inundating flows. Work on the Lower Coast Fork site resulted in re-connection of 69 acres of side channel and floodplain habitat. This contributed to a total restoration of over 300 acres with the completion of the Pudding Pond and Bring/Turtle Flats sites.",
