  "projectDescription": "The Noyo River watershed population of California Coho Salmon is identified as a key population to maintain or improve in several conservation plans. Furthermore, a 2006 stream assessment carried out by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife recommended as a high priority adding large wood to Marble Gulch within the watershed to increase habitat complexity and winter refugia sites for Coho Salmon. The project installed 177 pieces of large wood at 80 sites along 1.7 miles of Marble Gulch to help maintain the geographic distribution of coho salmon in a system with historically strong populations and biological refugia. Large wood installations increased habitat complexity and shelter values while simultaneously improving pool frequency and depth.",
