  "projectDescription": "This project assisted MacDill Air Force Base (AFB) with their ongoing efforts to restore the mangrove forest within the southern portion of the Tampa Bay Interbay Peninsula. The primary restoration objective was to remove spoil mounds, many of which were colonized by non-native vegetation such as Brazilian pepper.  This project expanded the hydro-blasting efforts to additional locations within the project site and included the removal of an additional 50 mounds to improve the hydrological conditions within the mangrove system.  In addition to benefits to the mangroves, a variety of estuarine dependent fauna also benefited from the enhancement of the mangroves including: common snook, red drum, sheepshead, mullet, oysters and blue crab.",
