"projectDescription": "Through this project, engineering designs were developed for the removal of an earthen barrier in Jack of Hearts Creek -- a tributary to South Fork Eel River near the town of Branscomb in northern Mendocino County, California. Jack of Hearts Creek is identified in the NMFS Recovery Plan for the Evolutionarily Significant Unit of Southern Oregon/Northern California Coast Coho Salmon. The barrier was finally removed in the summer of 2017. This barrier removal resulted in the re connection of 4,700 feet of coho habitat.",
