  "projectDescription": "The Sears Point Wetland Restoration Project (Project) is one of the largest tidal marsh restoration projects along the Pacific Coast and has resulted in a 1,000-acre tidal marsh basin that, until recently, was diked off from San Francisco Bay (Bay) for over 140 years.The objective of this project was to restore 960 acres of historic tidal wetlands by reconnecting the natural tidal hydrology to the project site.  Specific key project activities necessary to achieve the project objectives included constructing a new flood protection levee, excavating tidal channels throughout the project site, and constructing two tidal breaches in the existing perimeter levee, thereby reconnecting the tidal hydrology of the San Pablo Bay to the project site.",
