  "projectDescription": "The Maynard Nearshore Restoration restored 2,700 feet of marine shoreline to improve habitat conditions for multiple species, ESA-listed summer chum salmon, coho salmon and spawning forage fish. Project removed early 1900’s industrial fill, shoreline armoring, a creosote railway trestle and a defunct tide gate. A one-acre pocket estuary was created where an artificially impounded freshwater pond existed.  Two acres of beach habitat, degraded by the presence of rip rap, was re-graded to a natural slope and replaced with suitable material for forage fish spawning and shellfish recruitment.",
