  "projectDescription": "The purpose of this project was to restore natural hydrologic processes within the Lower Chewuch River watershed by reducing the impact of Forest Service roads. The specific short-term goals achieved were (1) to decommission high-risk roads in the watershed, focusing on the Eightmile Creek sixth-field Priority Watershed, and (2) to complete a Chewuch Transportation Plan that is broadly supported by the public and provides a model for collaborative roads planning elsewhere in the region.  The project reduced the amount of sediment entering the streams thereby improving fish habitat in the Lower Chewuch River.",
