  "projectDescription": "This project replaced the existing undersized, improperly set round culverts inhibiting fish passage at two road/stream crossing of Marshall Brook in Southwest Harbor, Maine with much larger 'fish friendly' embedded concrete box culverts.  This project reconnected 4.0 miles of a 6.9 mile coastal stream with the Bass Harbor estuary.  Populations of coastal brook trout and American eels again have free access between the freshwater and marine environment and may increase populations of these diadromous fish throughout Marshall Brook and revive an historic sea run brook fishery that once was popular in Acadia National Park.",
