  "projectDescription": "This project enhanced juvenile salmon rearing habitat through the creation of an off-channel pond with large wood habitat in Thompson Creek, a major salmonid bearing tributary to the Mattole River.  These enhancement measures increased the availability of high flow refuge for fry and juvenile salmonids, and will also provide more available winter and summer rearing habitat by increasing pool volume, cover, and suitable conditions conducive to feeding.  Increased wood loading and creation of slack water habitat increased habitat complexity and will also likely have positive benefits for stream productivity and fish growth.",
