  "projectDescription": "Salsipuedes Creek comprises the largest steelhead tributary of the lower Santa Ynez River and has been designated as critical habitat for endangered southern steelhead owing to historic spawning and rearing habitat, perennial flow, and close proximity to the Pacific Ocean.  Incomplete fencing allows cattle access to the riparian corridor and stream channel of lower Salsipuedes Creek.  This project installed cattle exclusionary fencing and off-channel watering sites to improve water quality and allow recovery of the riparian corridor, and serve as a regional demonstration of the benefits of excluding livestock from fish habitat.",
