"projectDescription": "The Mad River watershed supports populations of ESA-listed threatened coho salmon, Chinook salmon and steelhead. Limited availability of high quality spawning and rearing habitat is one of the major factors contributing to low abundance of these species, both within the Mad River and throughout the species' range. Humboldt Fish Action Council (HFAC) and partners developed designs to restore fish passage to Quarry Creek through culvert removal and bridge construction that eventually allowed coho, steelhead and Chinook to access 6,085 LF (1.2 square miles) of winter and summer rearing habitat.",
