  "projectDescription": "This project established a mangrove eradication program on the Huleia River in Kauai.  The project outcomes were the formal creation of a Project Steering Committee to oversee removal efforts, the organization of community members to participate in removal efforts, and actual removal of red mangrove in the Niumalu County Park through a series of work days.  The project developed a plan for removal of the entire invasive stand of red mangrove over the long term. 1.28 acres were restored with 0.95 acres restored by planting native Hawaiian plants and 0.25 acres cleared of mangrove.",
