  "projectDescription": "This project recruited, trained and supported new Community Huki Leaders to develop the invasive algae removal project into a long-term sustainable removal program.  The project increased the number of community hukis (Hawaiian meaning to pull, tug, support) that can be sustained long term, increased the intake of schools and community groups participating, and provided additional support to the current volunteer-led, science-based monitoring of the marine habitat.  The project cleared 2.91 acres of invasive alien algae Avrainvillea amadelpha, Gracilaria salicornia and Acanthophera spicifera from the Paiko inshore reef flat.",
