  "projectDescription": "This project will divert freshwater from the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway and create a hydrologic head that maximizes freshwater retention time and reduces salt water intrusion and tidal action.  This has been accomplished by 20,000 feet of shoreline restoration of the Gulf Intracoastal Water Way and installation of a self-regulating tide gate. In the spring of 2002 and 2003, two phases of over 50,000 bullwhip (Scirpus validus) plantings are planned.",
