"projectDescription": "The Skokomish Indian Tribe and Mason Conservation District completed restoration of the Skokomish Estuary by breaching a power line access road to reconnect tidal marshes and wetlands along the western extent of the Skokomish River Delta. This completes a series of actions to restore the historical extent of tidal inundation over the whole delta. The Skokomish River partners are using hatcheries to reintroduce extirpated and now regionally threatened Chinook Salmon, which are dependent on estuaries for rearing. The project re-connects over a mile of tidal marsh channels and over 250 acres of forested coastal wetlands. Three state and two federal agencies pooled and coordinated funds to insure project completion.",
