"projectDescription": "The Granite Creek Watershed Restoration Project involved a suite of activities to benefit ESA-listed steelhead and other species. The North Fork John Day Watershed Council designed multiple culvert replacements in the Ten Cent and Bull Run sub-watersheds to improve fish passage. Over the course of the project 6 culvert replacements were constructed with help from the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation and the US Forest Service, opening a total of 16.6 miles of stream to uninhibited fish passage. The watershed council also assessed the Redboy and Blackjack Mines to identify water quality issues that could be impacting aquatic species. Finally, the project worked with private and public landowners in the Granite Creek watershed to survey for invasive vegetation and treat 30 acres of high priority sites.",
