  "projectDescription": "This project preserved the 60-acre Campbell Creek Estuary.   This mitigation project totaled $6.8 million in private donors, foundations and state and federal grants.The Campbell Creek Estuary is the last, functional estuary located in Alaska’s largest city of Anchorage. This estuary is critical to supporting local salmon populations, as well as functioning as a refugia for marine species traveling through Turnagain Arm and Cook Inlet. Among these species are the Cook Inlet Beluga whale; currently listed as Endangered under the Endangered Species.  The creek itself is habitat for Pacific salmon which provides recreational fishing opportunities as well as the commercially important Cook Inlet salmon fishery.",
