"projectDescription": "ATONS deployed by USCG on reef in Dec. 2010. Once notified by NOAA that the buoys had been placed on coral reef, the USCG responded quickly to remove the buoys. This prevented additional damage to these coral reefs. Only 10m of chain had been dragged out at each site, but there was still another 10 meters of chain at one site and 20m of chain at the 2nd site that still could have been dragged out causing additional damage to the reef. If USCG had not been notified and ATONs removed, an additional 5,000m2 of reef would have been destroyed between the 2 sites as the chains dragged over the reef over time. Approximately 150 corals were reattached.Occurred in Guayanilla, PRRestoration was implemented twice.2 Acropora damageResource: Reef",
