  "projectDescription": "Currently 15 acres of salt marsh habitat are completely cut off by a dike road that was built in the early 1900's.  Two collapsed 1-ft diameter wooden culverts in the road pass little water to or from the isolated salt marsh. The dike and failed culverts have greatly reduced fish habitat quantity and quality, leading to fish stranding in isolated pools behind the dike road and reducing feeding, rearing and refuge opportunities.  The Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe and the North Olympic Salmon Coalition will address these barriers by developing the 100% engineering and design plans for the removal of the structures and restoration of the estuary habitat.",
