  "projectDescription": "Through a regional partnership with the Great Lakes Commission, water flow to historic rapids habitat in the St. Marys River was restored with the construction of a bridge to replace two undersized culverts. Implementation of this project was the last remaining restoration action needed to remove the St Marys River AOC’s habitat-related BUIs and is an important step in delisting the AOC.  This project builds off of a previously funded FY 11 GLRI award that supported the engineering and design of the restoration project. A long-term monitoring effort has been established through CIGLR to determine the effectiveness of the restoration at the Little Rapids.",
