  "projectDescription": "In 2010, the NOAA Restoration Center and American Rivers provided funds to support the engineering design and public outreach for removal of the Ed Bill's Pond Dam in Lyme, CT.  In 2015, the NOAA and American Rivers Partnership provided additional funding to remove the dam, opening 7.2 miles of the Eightmile River and provide benefits for Atlantic salmon, blueback herring, alewife, sea lamprey, and American eel. Project completion achieved in January 2016. CTDEEP and project partners will continue to monitor the site for diadromous fish passage and use and riparian wetland development.",
