  "projectDescription": "This project, led by The Nature Conservancy in partnership with the University of Central Florida and the Brevard Zoo, restored 12 intertidal oyster reefs degraded by boat wakes in the Mosquito Lagoon Aquatic Preserve and Canaveral National Seashore. To increase the acreage of live intertidal oyster reefs 2,297 oyster mats were constructed.  With volunteer assistance, the oyster reef sites were prepared and leveled to an appropriate elevation, the mats were deployed on site, and then the reefs were monitored for oyster growth.",
