  "projectDescription": "This funded project resulted in design plans necessary to provide passage restoration and riparian wetland restoration in the Red Brook watershed and at the Century Bog former cranberry bog site. Implementation of the project is to restore Red Brook to a free-flowing stream and provide access up to 300 acres of alewife spawning habitat by removing six cranberry operation barriers and improving the efficiency of a fish ladder at White Sands Pond.This project was also identified in the 2014 Final Programmatic Restoration Plan and Environmental Assessment (PRP/EA) for the B-120 Buzzards Bay oil spill. The PRP/EA identifies the Century Bog project as a Tier 2 preferred restoration to address injury restoration of aquatic resources associated with the oil spill. In September 2018, the B-120 Trustee Council visited the project site to determine potential for future funding of the project, including fish passage and non-tidal riparian wetlands restoration. The Trustees expect further coordination from the MA DER on advancing the updated design and implementation of the restoration in 2020. Since this project may involve use of B-120 case settlement restoration funds, it may be best to create a new RCDB record if this DARRP action is to occur.",
