  "projectDescription": "The City of Virginia Beach developed an Oyster Heritage Strategic Plan for the restoration of viable oyster resources in the Lynnhaven River watershed.  As part of this plan, SAV and oyster restoration efforts were undertaken in several sites throughout the watershed.  Restoration activities within the plan include planting eelgrass, establishment of sanctuary oyster reefs, construction of mini oyster reefs under piers, establishment of oyster shell plants in intertidal areas along shorelines, and expansion of the seed oyster program. This project focused on the oyster component of the plan, shelling one remnant reef area and seedingit with citizen gardener oysters.",
