"projectDescription": "This project involved the planting of five thousand plants to help create three acres of wetland and enhance 2 acres of riparian area, all of which will improve water quality and riparian function adjacent to Natividad Creek, which supports a run of steelhead trout that are part of the threatened Central California Coast Evolutionarily Significant Unit. The plants were planted by school children and members of the community. Other partners in this project included the Watershed Institute of the California State University - Monterey Bay, the Packard Foundation, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, the City of Salinas, the Regional Water Quality Control Board, the Adopt-A-Watershed Program, and the Acosta Plaza Neighborhood Association.",
