  "projectDescription": "The Salmon River Aquatic Habitat Restoration Project increased pool habitat, side channel habitat, and channel complexity on 3,000 feet of the Salmon River and restored surface flow and channel complexity to 2,200 feet of side channel habitat.  The Freshwater Trust took the lead on this project on behalf of the Sandy River Basin Partners, a unique coalition of government agencies, the local watershed council, private interests, and non-profit organizations dedicate to restoring ESA-listed salmon and steelhead through collaborative, holistic, and innovative approaches.  The project is on public land, provided local economic benefits, and featured a unique education component utilizing the Healthy Waters Institute to engage local high school students in monitoring and riparian restoration.  Phase 1 of the project was completed in the summer of 2010. A second phase was completed in the summer of 2011.",
