"projectDescription": "The purpose of this project was to develop a scallop restoration strategy for Tampa Bay to help build a more resilient bay scallop population in the region. This project was developed to help understand the optimal size for hatchery-reared scallop releases in order to maximize survivability. Larvae was released at 3 different size classes, but unfortunately the project was unable to achieve sufficient results to be able to assess the variations in the methodology. However, the challenges of this pilot project created important insights into future restoration and management recommendations including examination of the seasonal life history patterns of the species, as well as the necessity for more frequent assessments of adult populations.",
