  "projectDescription": "As part of an ongoing program by the Anacostia Watershed Society, students removed approximately 7,500 pounds of debris and 50 tires, planted native wildlife habitat on school property and sites within the community, and stenciled approximately 75 storm drains in the Anacostia River, and thus the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.  To address excessive sediment loads, discarded Christmas trees were tied into the shoreline with cables and stakes, acting as sediment traps to hold fertile soil in place, as well as serve as depositional areas for suspended sediments.",
