  "projectDescription": "Save The Bay, with support from the NOAA partnership with Restore America's Estuaries, University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography, the Town of North Kingstown and the Town Harbor Commission developed an eelgrass transplant demonstration project near an existing eelgrass bed in Wickford Harbor, Rhode Island to raise public awareness and experiment with transplant methodology. 2300 plants were transplanted to Wickford Harbor. Eelgrass is widely recognized as providing nursery habitat and feeding grounds for a variety of species like bay scallops and more than 20 commercially important finfish and shellfish. Additionally, eelgrass provides valuable storm and shoreline protection as well as cleaning and filtering water.",
