  "projectDescription": "The Coastal Punta Tuna Natural Reserve was established through the work of local citizens.  This project removed illegal fences and established barriers to protect the area from cattle, horses, and vehicles. Vegetation was planted to protect turtle nesting and mangrove areas. Several community workshops were held and DNER rangers communicated with locals about the fencing project. Approximately 2.25 acres of habitat were directly restored as part of this project, but the effort will benefit the entire 119-acre reserve.  Partners included the Comite Pro-desarrollo de Maunabo (CM) citizens group, MAR, and the Puerto Rico DNER.",
