  "projectDescription": "Although there was a small amount of restoration associated with this project, the main goals were to assess habitat needs and restoration techniques for Olympic oysters in Yaquina Bay. This project restored 0.5 acres of native oyster habitat using 200 bags of cultch in Poole Slough of Yaquina Bay. Based on the assessment work completed as part of this project, native oyster restoration in Yaquina Bay should be focused in areas with the following qualities: no disturbance (by oyster famers), low sedimentation rates, historic habitat, low slope, and no or little low tide exposure. Extensive oyster restoration efforts in Yaquina Bay will be challenging because much of the habitat with the above qualities is owned/leased by a commercial oyster farmer.",
