Invasive Brazilian pepper trees were removed by volunteers at six different sites on the Indian River Lagoon shoreline. Pineda Causeway is one of the six restoration sites under this grant. This project helped to trap sediment and filter pollution, thus preventing erosion and improving water quality.",
