  "projectDescription": "The Marine Discovery Center, in partnership with the NOAA Restoration Center and The Nature Conservancy, restored 0.35 acres of oyster habitat in a high traffic boating area along the shoreline of Chicken Island in the Indian River Lagoon.  Close to 300 volunteers participated in the project creating and deploying oysters mats to help stabilize the shoreline and allow oysters to recruit and colonize the site.  The Marine Discovery Center hopes to use this pilot oyster reef restoration project as a platform from which to improve and expand their restoration efforts.",
