  "projectDescription": "The goal of this project was to complete the feasibility study, design and permitting to remove 3 dams on the Shawsheen River, a tribuitary to the Merrimack, in Andover, MA.  The feasibility study has been completed and the lower two of the dams proceeded with design, permitting and construction.  These two projects were fully implemented in early 2017 and  restored diadromous fish passage for river herring (blueback and alewives), American shad, sea lamprey and American eel to more than 7 mainstem and tributary river miles on the Shawsheen River.  Project partners include MADFW, MA Riverways Program, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and Shawsheen River Watershed Assn.",
