  "projectDescription": "People for Puget Sound's \"Sound Stewardship\" program was a major venue for community participation in restoration across Puget Sound.  It introduced citizens to the concepts of habitat restoration and provided ongoing stewardship of recently restored sites.  Activities generally include goose exclusion fencing, weeding, planting, and monitoring of habitat functions.  Restoration activities were completed at 16 sites across Puget Sound including 6 sites new to the Sound Stewardship Program.  The program begins each stewardship year with a training program for site stewards who assist program staff in developing and hosting public work parties.  1040 volunteers were recruited to contribute 3999 hours of labor to the restoration of nearshore riparian and tidal marsh habitats.",
