"description": "Cabrillo Marine Aquarium (CMA) held 5 teacher workshops and 5 community safe fishing family workshops.Teacher WorkshopsCMA developed a Fish Contamination Educator Curriculum Guide to be used during teacher workshops and as a resource for teachers after the workshop. A total of 42 teachers participated in the teacher workshops that were aimed at 4th through 8th grade teachers.Community WorkshopsSeveral safe fishing and fish preparation workshops were held just for students. Students learned about fish contamination issues, how to identify fish they had caught, and safe consumption behaviors. Students were given the opportunity to fish from a boat or pier and grilled the fish they caught. Additional community workshops were held for families where they learned about fishing regulations, how to fish, and which fish are safe to eat.",
