  "projectDescription": "The City of Ashland, with a variety of local partners, will develop a restoration and watershed management plan to address the ecological resources of the Fish Creek watershed and the waters of Chequamegon Bay, Kakagon Slough, and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore to which Fish Creek discharges.  The plan will address the causes of significant increases in water temperature, nonpoint source loading, and turbidity in the Bay over the last 20 years.  Building on other efforts around Lake Superior, this project will develop a strategic plan to reestablish riparian and coastal woodlands and wetlands, enhance aquatic and terrestrial habitat, restore eroding buffs and stream banks, and establish conservation design guidelines aimed at minimizing the affects of future development in the watershed.",
