This project tried to established new broodstock by protecting young-of-the-year clams until they have reached sufficient size to avoid most predators and plant them in a sub-tidal zone that ensures their protection from harvest, then monitor the results. The goal of the project was for these sites to act as spawning sanctuaries for future population regeneration.",
