  "projectDescription": "Drakes Island is a 75-acre marsh situated between the mainland in Wells, ME and Drakes Island, which is connected to the mainland by a causeway.  The marsh has suffered from subsidence, Phragmites invasion, and inundation by freshwater that runs off Drakes Island during storms.  More natural tidal flows have been restored to the marsh by through the installation of a self-regulating tide gate.  This project funded post restoration monitoring of the salt marsh.",
