  "projectDescription": "The project implemented a model program for elementary and high school students to encourage participation in the restoration of Delaware Bay oyster habitats.  The first year's efforts was focused on delivering workshops to 50 teachers about oyster biology/ecology and current perspectives of the oyster resources of the Delaware Estuary.  A network of schools and teachers was recruited to deliver the program and specific year two restoration activities were planned at the schools.   In 2007, the project  continued workshops and school programs, and implemented a community-based oyster restoration project. School groups helped to deploy 1500 shell bags (1 acre), and monitor oyster growth and survival. A website and other educational materials was created and a follow-up teacher workshop was conducted.",
