"projectDescription": "The Devil Rays Baseball Team partnered with a variety of local environmental resource organizations to design a new entrance to the Tropicana Field Stadium based on the principles of the Florida Yards & Neighborhoods (FYN) Program. The FYN program provides information on the best ways to design and maintain gardens to provide a quality 'Florida Friendly' native landscape while reducing the use of fertilizers and pesticides, conserving water supplies, and increasing native habitats. This project created a beautiful new entrance to their stadium while at the same time minimizing pollution and stormwater runoff issues. Eight educational and interactive signs were placed throughout the garden area, more than 6,000 native plants, shrubs and trees were planted, and more than 1,000,000 visitors are expected to walk through the garden each year.",
