Being the first dam removal in the state of New Hampshire, the McGoldrick Dam removal has served as a model for future restoration efforts on the Connecticut River and its tributaries.  The removal of two additional dams on the Ashuelot River has reconnected more than 30 miles of fragmented river habitat.",
