This project rejuvenated the ecosystem of South Mill Pond by restoring shellfish reef and salt marsh at two sites bordering the City parklands after years of environmental neglect. The entire pond ecosystem benefited from increases in physical filtration functions of the marsh, as well as increased habitat and connectivity value of low marsh with shellfish beds.",
