Whale Island, a National Wildlife refuge managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, is experiencing high rates of erosion. More than 30 volunteers contributed 112 hours to plant the grasses grown by the high school nurseries. This project was funded through a partnership between NOAA's Community-based Restoration Program and Restore America's Estuaries.",
